FPF replacemet fuel pump for Yamaha 1984-1985 Virago 1000 , 1986-1999 Virago 1100

While the fuel pump worked splendidly after installed, there were a couple of quirks making the installation tricky. I didn’t notice this at first but the flow direction is opposite the original and I had to reposition the fuel lines to accommodate. Also, the rubber mounting strap was also installed backwards from the original and I had to change that, too. Otherwise, it’s all good and my bike starts and runs fine now.

I was having a devil of a time finding an aftermarket fuel pump for my 1986 XV1100 that would deliver enough fuel to get top performance. I had tried a number of pumps from different vendors and none were any good. They either shorted out after a few weeks or just couldn't get enough fuel to the carbs. The bike stuttered and even stalled sometimes and just wasn't ridable. I bought this FPF pump and problem solved! Throttle response is instant and the bike screams at full throttle. Even low end throttle response is better. Riding is fun again. So forget about those cheap Ebay pumps. Spend the extra coin and get OEM performance at a fraction of the OEM price.
